VILLAGE NEWS
Have you heard the story about the ant and the grasshopper? What about the goose that laid golden eggs or the three little pigs?
Children in 1st to 5th Standard in our village schools are enjoying these tales and more, as Village Coordinators are visiting once a week for storytelling time.
The key is to narrate the stories in a way that is expressive enough to grab the attention of the kids. This is a tool to help them learn, in both heart and mind, what they need to know to lead good lives in their communities.
Each session ends with involving the children in a discussion so that they too have a chance to express their ideas. Overall, the approach is bringing the kids a lot of time to simply enjoy.
