Good Results for Drinking Water

Thursday, December 1, 2016

A test of the municipal drinking water supply in Indpur, Himachal Pradesh has come back showing the water is in good condition. Water was tested from various tap sources throughout the village.

The way it works is that the bottles are one-time use only to maintain their own cleanliness. They test for bacterial contamination, not the presence of minerals and heavy metals.

The process is very simple: fill the bottle directly with water from the source. Keep it in a dark, shaded place for 24 hours. If the water turns yellow, then there is no bacterial contamination. If it turns black, then harmful bacteria are present.

As is visible in the photo above, the Indpur water is yellow, and so free of bacterial contamination.
