Jobin Joshwa, a 27-year-old entrepreneur and the proud owner of Biker Lab, a thriving two-wheeler workshop located in Kattappana. Jobin’s early life was marked by tragedy, as his father, a mason, passed away when he was just a young boy. Determined to support his family, Jobin made the difficult decision to discontinue his education and follow in his father’s footsteps in the masonry profession. However, he soon realized that the income from this work was insufficient to meet the needs of his family.
In pursuit of better prospects, Jobin began working part-time at a local bike mechanic workshop in Kattappana. This experience sparked his interest in the world of two-wheeler repair and maintenance. When the COVID-19 pandemic brought uncertainty to his masonry job, Jobin seized the opportunity to pursue a brighter future. Jobin enrolled in the Two-Wheeler Mechanism Course offered by Amrita JSS-Idukki at their Kattappana Center. His prior experience in the field proved invaluable, facilitating a smoother transition into the course. Upon completing the program, Jobin decided to take a bold step toward realizing his dream. With unwavering determination, he secured a loan of 2,00,000 lakhs rupees from a local cooperative bank in Kattappana.
I could transform my skills into a prosperous career.
