Completing thousands of studying hours by hundreds of participants

”I recently completed a tailoring course at Amrita Jan Shikshan Sansthan Kalahandi, an excellent organization that provided me with high-quality instruction. Today, I am here to collect my tailoring certificate. I am excited to open my own shop and pursue my dream of building a successful career,” says Sujata Surujal, one of the Amrita JSS course graduates.

Amrita JSS - Kalahandi celebrated the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh at the Amrita JSS office in Bhawanipatna. Distinguished guests: The District Employment Officer, Shri Ajit Kumar Uttaray was the chief guest, and Deepak Kumar Agarwal, General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC) Kalahandi and Shri Lalit Kanungo, a well-known journalist, came as the guest. More than 135 participants attended the programme. They distributed 120 certificates to the JSS beneficiaries. Twenty (20) beneficiaries for tailoring and 100 beneficiaries from the Beauty Care Assistant courses were certified in the programme.

On 12th October, Amrita JSS-Kalahandi celebrated the Deekshant Samaroh, a nationwide event aimed at recognizing the achievements and efforts of its beneficiaries. All India toppers and high achievers across various skill initiatives of the Ministry of Skill Education and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), including Jan Shikshan Sansthans (JSSs), were felicitated at the function. The Skill Convocation Ceremony was held online, and all Amrita JSS centres attended, which was broadcasted from Delhi.

In Kalahandi, the ceremony commenced with a traditional worship ceremony symbolizing the spirit of togetherness and blessings for the event. The atmosphere was charged with positive energy as participants and guests joined in the rituals. The webcast was organised where Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the students live at the ceremony. Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Rajeev Chandrashekhar, chaired the event.

Amrita JSS – Vizianagaram celebrated at the Amrita JSS Office at Vizianagaram with more than 105 participants. Distinguished guests: The District Employment Officer, Yeswanth Kumar, was the chief guest and Shri Dabbiru Ramesh, Chairman of Amrita JSS - Vizianagaram, Smt. Rama Lakshmi, Board of Management member, Dr K.V.L Suchitra Rao, Vice-Chairperson, Smt. Jyotsana, from the field of Women Empowerment Entrepreneurship, attended the programme. The certificates were distributed to 25 beneficiaries from Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and 80 to the JSS beneficiaries.

The Director in charge of Amrita JSS-Kalahandi delivered a speech emphasising the importance of skill development, education, and empowerment in the development of Kalahandi. Following the speech, snacks and tea were distributed among all. This provided an opportunity for informal interactions and networking among the attendees.

One among the graduates were Jharana Naik who is from nearby village Sanyasi Kundamal. ”I was learning tailoring at Amrita Jan Shikshan Sansthan Kalahandi, and our madam taught us very well. Today, I am extremely happy to be receiving my certificates. I want to move forward by pursuing the skills that I have learned,” she shared her contentment of completing hours of theory and practical training.

Amrita JSS - Idukki conducted the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh Skill Convocation Ceremony at Amrita JSS Sub Centre, Kattappana. The live streaming of the Skill Convocation Ceremony from MSDE was played on the screen. Mr. Jojo Joseph, the Managing Director of Computer Park Institutions, distributed the certificates to 70 beneficiaries.

Skill development and employment opportunities

The other esteemed guests gave inspiring speeches highlighting the importance of skill development and employment opportunities for the residents of Kalahandi district. The need for a collaborative approach between government agencies and institutions like Amrita JSS for the overall development of the district were emphasised. The speakers also encouraged the beneficiaries to explore and utilize the resources andopportunities available in Kalahandi for their economic well-being.

The highlight of the event was the certificate distribution program. With the help of the invited guests, certificates were awarded to the beneficiaries, acknowledging their dedication and achievements in various skill development programs. “The atmosphere was jubilant as each recipient received their certificate, and their families and peers cheered them on,” Amrita JSS volunteer said.

Amrita JSS – East Khasi Hills celebrated the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh at the community hall. There were 50 participants in the programme, and 40 beneficiaries who completed the training programme in courses such as Tailoring, Food Processing and Bamboo Craft were certified. Shri. P. Thawmuit, a Rural Development Officer of Meghalaya Rural Livelihood Society (MSLRS), was the Chief Guest for the event. Members from the MSLRS and Amrita JSS staff members were also present at the event.

“The Deekshant Samaroh at Amrita JSS-Kalahandi was a memorable event that celebrated the spirit of empowerment and skill development in the region. It not only recognized the hard work of the beneficiaries but also highlighted the importance of collaboration between government bodies, institutions, and the media in furthering the cause of education and skill development in Kalahandi. The event served as a source of inspiration and motivation for the participants and the community at large,” a delighted volunteer reported happily.

Amrita JSS-Idukki The other convocation programme took place at MB College, Adimali. The attendees observed the live telecast of the Skill Convocation Ceremony from MSDE. Dr. Benny, principal of MB College Adimali, Mrs. Nisha Thomas, Assistant Professor and Mr. Rajeev Chellanam, Resource Person of Amrita JSS Idukki, distributed the certificates to 40 beneficiaries.
