The New Year was welcomed by singing and chanting prayers together in Amrita SeRVe villages. The celebrations started with chanting of Amma’s Dhyana Sloka, singing few bhajans (devotional songs) remembering their Guru or Ishta Devata (beloved Deity). The puja (offering) culminated in chanting of the Shanti Mantra for 108 times while imagining white flowers of peace showering on the whole world.

Gurukulam students recently learned the prayers and chanted them devotedly with their teachers.

In their homes, adults took a seat in front of the altar in their puja rooms summoning the family members to pray for happiness and wellbeing for everyone and everywhere.

The peace mantras were ringing in every corner of India.
