“In the ancient gurukula, the Master prayed together with his disciples: ‘May Brahman protect us, may He nourish both you and I, may both you and I be given the energy we need, may this study make us both illumined, and may we never hate each other. Om shanti, shanti, shanti.’ The prayer was dedicated to both teacher and student, blessing each one’s uplift and understanding — not that the master needed anything from the disciple — it was only a magnificent example of his humility.”
