Satyavathi, a resilient mother of two, resides with her family on Lanka Street in the stadium colony of Vizianagaram District of Andhra Pradesh. Their journey is a testament to the power of determination, support, and the transformative impact of Amrita Jan Shikshan Sansthan’s skill education.

Satyavathi’s family faced financial challenges, with all four members living under the Below Poverty Line (BPL). Her husband, the sole breadwinner, worked as an attender in a private college, earning a monthly income of 10,000 rupees. Their younger daughter, Sri Lakshmi, has faced the challenge of being born with a mental disability. This condition left her dependent on her mother’s unwavering support, as she was unable to perform basic tasks independently. Throughout it all, Satyavathi never wavered in her commitment to her family, particularly her beloved daughter.

Their home was a rented one, a small but cosy space that sheltered their dreams. The family history and the trials they faced were not accessible, but Satyavathi’s determination to provide a better life for her daughters fueled her efforts.

Their lives began to change when they discovered the opportunity to learn the course Jute Product Maker. With the support of the Amrita Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Vizianagaram, they embarked on a 120-day course, learning how to craft various jute products. The initiative gave them the skills and knowledge they needed to start a new chapter in their lives.

Both Satyavathi and Sri Lakshmi embraced the training wholeheartedly. Their dedication and hard work paid off, and they eventually found employment in the same locality, where their income started to grow. Now, Satyavathi earns 14,000 rupees every month while simultaneously supporting her daughter’s education.

The income provided by the Craft Shop in Vizianagaram allowed their elder daughter to pursue a B.Tech degree at the private college where her father works.

Satyavathi’s success story is a beacon of hope for many families like hers, who yearn for a brighter future. She expresses her heartfelt gratitude to the Jan Shikshan Sansthan in Vizianagaram for the training. In her own words, she sums up her journey:

“I am very grateful for the training and opportunities that Amrita Jan Shikshan Sansthan – Vizianagaram has provided. They have transformed our lives, allowing us to learn and grow. Today, my family is on the right path, and my daughters will have a brighter future. I am sharing my experience, and I hope it inspires others to never give up on their loved ones.”
