School Bag Kit Distribution

School bag kits were distributed to 53 students in Amrita SeRVe Village Tuition Centres in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh on Friday, 31st May 2024. The two events happened just before the start of the new academic year to infuse the children with enthusiasm to pursue their studies by receiving this essential item.

In Kerala, 31 students received the kit at the Amrita SeRVe Village Tuition Centre, Vattavada, Idukki. The tuition center caters to tribal children whose parents are daily wage earners in order to ensure that the children are getting the support they need to keep up with their studies and to avoid dropping out of school. Values and culture are taught along with academics.

The event commenced with Amma’s Dhyanasloka, followed by lighting the lamp. Panchayath Vice-President Sri Kuppuswamy inaugurated the event, followed by a welcome speech by Sri Lalprasad S, Director of JSS Idukki. Sri Ganesh, Trustee BMRC Hospital Vattavada, Sri Sudheesh P S, and Smt Vimala M greeted the students and distributed the school bag kits.

A similar function was held at the Amrita SeRVe Tuition Centre Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, where 22 students received a school bag kit. The event was facilitated by representatives of JSS-Vizianagaram: Director V. Harish, Assistant Program Officer P. Someswara Rao, and Field Officers G. Ganesh, K. Ravindra and R. Ganesh.
