VILLAGE NEWS
Teachers are one of the vital keys to the development of our villages. They are educating the children for the future.
And so yesterday, on September 5th, village schools celebrated National Teachers’ Day. This is the birthday of the second president of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was born in 1888. It has been celebrated as Teachers’ Day since 1962. Radhakrishnan was a highly esteemed philosopher who stated that “teachers should be the best minds in the country”.
On this day, classes are replaced by activities of celebration and gratitude for teachers. Children sang songs, narrated poems, played games and conducted storytelling sessions. All of these communication modes helped the students realise the importance of teachers in our lives. Upon exploring this idea, they were even able to see that everything is our teacher. When regarded in the right way, even a plant teaches us a lot.
Shikshak and pita pujas were also performed. In Nagla Purviya, UP, a kitchen garden was initiated at the primary school. Seeds sown included spinach, methi, soya, beets, radishes, and chick peas—all rich in iron.
