Team Effort Equals Drinking Water

In October 2016, an Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham team constructed a sustainable water distribution system for the village of Gudipadi Cheruvu in Andhra Pradesh. Together with Amrita SeRVe, the Department of Civil Engineering students and staff, the Center for Wireless Networks and Applications, and the Amrita Center for International Programmes built a borewell, tanks, taps and pipes:

• 1 borewell
• 1 main tank, 6 small tanks (18,000 litres total capacity)
• 35 communal taps
• underground pipes laid.
