Water is essential to all life. However, daily access to clean water in rural areas may require a long, arduous walk to the nearest stream, river, or bore well. 

Since its inception in 2013, Amrita SeRVe has offered solutions to fundamental problems such as daily access to clean water. Working closely with the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham departments, the Center for Wireless Networks and Applications, the Department of Civil Engineering, and the Amrita Center for International Programs, the Amrita SeRVe team continues to install low-cost, custom-designed water distribution networks, including bore wells and hand pumps, in India’s poorest rural areas.
