95 Children Learn Handwashing

Monday, January 30, 2017

Ninety-five children in our new village in Jharkhand learned that washing one’s hands can even save your life.

It may seem like a simple, little thing, but it is actually vital when it comes to the prevention of some serious health issues in rural India.  For example, proper practices of body cleanliness can prevent life threatening illnesses for children like diarrhoea.

Amrita SeRVe has started work in the next village in our cluster in Jharkhand. Karkata has a geographical area of about 108 hectares and about 1300 people live there.

Tutoring with the school children has also started.
